lotus reveals eterne hybrid sedan
This year at the Paris Motor Show Lotus made a step forward and showcased its first hybrid four door super saloon, dubbed the Eterne. The concept will have a 5.0 liter V8 Petrol (hybrid optional) engine with a hybrid gearbox with integrated electric motors and KERS. The power output i.e. 620 HP and 720 NM torque is identical to Lotus Elite hybrid and Esprit vehicles. However, it slightly slower than the two and achieves a sprint from 0-100km/h in 4 seconds, with its top speed wrapped at 315km/h.
Lotus Eterne hybrid sedan is a 4 seater, front-mid-engined, rear wheel drive (all wheel drive is optional) car that weighs 1,800 kg and has a CO2 emission at 220 g/km. The concept is sensational to look at and has a same shape as the Porsche Panamera, Aston Martin Rapide and Audi A7 Sportback. On the other, it’s compact yet spacious, high performing yet low emitting, relative lightweight yet still reassuringly solid. Eterne is merely a concept at the moment and will enter the production in early 2015 and deliveries will start in spring of the same year. Potential customers should expect to pay $190,000 (£120,000).
