A pilot miraculously survived his S-1 Swift G-IZII glider crashing into a runway at high speed. Mike Newman, 35, suffered three broken vertebrae in the accident, but is expected to make a full recovery. The former race-car driver was performing at the Royal Air Forces Association airshow last month at Shoreham in West Sussex, U.K., when things went wrong.
We wish Mike a speedy recovery. Keep reading for spectator footage of the wreck.
